Colleagues it is time to open our eyes and not exactly for dental decay!!!

For the past 10 years I've had the fantastic opportunity to practice dentistry. My first years as a practitioner were rewarded by a professional and financial optimistic atmosphere, were I was able to practice great dentistry and was compensated accordingly. I couldn't be more proud of my profession and with all the accomplishments that I was achieving. Times had change and now I see how big corporations, that we all know, are taking over our profession. It's difficult for a newly graduate, after a great financial and academic effort to afford a dream practice, they have to fall under the mercy of this titans that have as an interest the main value of financial gain. We provide the dentistry and we are liable for our patients dental health. We should be able to place the rules, use the equipment, supplies, and proper standard of care protocols to satisfy our patient needs and we at the same time should be the ones dictating the proper fees for those procedures.

Recently at my new office (Oral Hygiene Center) we practice those values. No more dental factories, no more dental insurances imposing dental fees. We should be able to practice excellent dentistry, without fear, knowing that we as dentists try always to accomplish perfection.

We have to be vigilants, love and protect our profession, for us and for our patients.
